::Wristlets, Clutches & Big Pouches::

What do all three have in common besides adorable fabric and a spicy ruffle?
They all have new additions in the shop!

I'm beefing up inventory for the Junk in the Trunk market and whatever's in the shop is coming with me (May 5th) so if there's something in there you want get it now because it wont be replenished after the market!

Also, thank you to those who particpated in my little sidebar poll on product demand! I am taking notice! Medium Pouches and Totes will be made this week! :)

::KONY2012::

I have to admit, I had seen the KONY2012 campaign a few different places but I never actually knew what it was. Then while visiting one of my newest follower's blog, I found a remarkable post she did on the whole issue and it inspired me to make this blog button that links to the official KONY2012 website so that bloggers could spread the word themselves.
Please feel free to grab this 125x125 button to ad to your blogs/websites.
Kony2012

Joseph Kony is one of the world's worst war criminals abducting THOUSANDS OF children and forcing them to kill- at times even their own parents and EACH OTHER.
KONY 2012 IS A FILM AND CAMPAIGN BY INVISIBLE CHILDREN THAT AIMS TO MAKE JOSEPH KONY FAMOUS, NOT TO CELEBRATE HIM, BUT TO RAISE SUPPORT FOR HIS ARREST AND SET A PRECEDENT FOR INTERNATIONAL JUSTICE.

Even if you don't wish to share the button, please sign the pledge which is described in more detail here and on the official website.

As a mother this is hard for me to swallow. I couldn't just do nothing.
What are your thoughts on this campaign?

InstaFriday

It's been a while since I linked up with Life.Rearranged for InstaFriday!
I've missed all of you!
There's lots of pictures this time so here we go!
 Duckface! Impromptu "photo shoot" during a day of sewing while being silly with Sam.

 I always use ZipIt for my zippers. Always the best quality, always white!

 Danny is the best daddy ever and these nighttime stories are adorable to overhear!

 Blogging about new product

 New clutches in the new collection these are called Summer Stripe and there's still some left!

I love this glitter in OPI's new line but I didn't love scrubbing it off!

 Martha Stewart's Home Office stuff?! Heaven at Staples!

 Big Pouch in Checkers. Ruffle also comes in pink and lime!

 Because my sewing machine faces the wall, I stream shows online then watch them through a mirror propped up on my desk :p

 Pom Poms I made for our Valentine display at school! This photo is my phone wallpaper, I love all the pink!

 I.Want.this.bag!!! Michael Kors at TJMaxx. Although it's heavily marked-down, still too expensive for my budget :(

 Amazing crocheted hat made by CuddlePie Crochet! I looooooooove it!

 Those lashes!

The snack isle at Target. The amazing prices. How's a girl to ever lose weight?!

Sam's & my feetsies are identical! Poor kid!

Walmart's $3.25 candles are the BEST! Seriously!

New combo coming soon in the shop! Also available with a pink ruffle.

I painted flowers on my nails!
The secret is using craft paint for the detail work. Yes craft paint!
It's about .59 a bottle, dries faster than nail polish, is thicker & easier to see and once you put a clear coat on top you can't even tell a difference!

::Wanna Trade?::

Hello!
If you're a new blog starting out, or a successful one just wanting more exposure, I am happy to trade buttons with you!
Statistic show that the more times a consumer's eye sees something, the more likely they are to click on it.
We've all done it: seen a button and though it piqued our interest, didn't click it due to being distracted with the task at hand. Then we see it again somewhere else and again are even more intrigued, but again we are right in the middle of something. Then we see it for a third time, on a third blog, and just HAVE to find out what it is!

This is why I like to do trades. Buying ad space on big name blogs is a great idea but can be costly. So lets help one another out by swapping! Our ads will get more exposure for free!

((Don't have a button to advertise with? No problem! Here is a super easy tutorial I made just for you! :))
150x150
WL150x150
250x100
WL250x100
180x100
WL180x100
125x125
WL125x125
250x90
WL250x90

Feel free to take any one of my buttons whether or not you wish to trade.
Sizes are indicated above each one.
Please submit a button that is either 125x125, 250x200, 250x150 or 250x100.
If you would like me to put your button on my blog, just Just leave a comment with the button code OR email it to me: LaurenRAshby@aol.com

Feel free to "steal" any of the button codes left in the comments too ;)
Everyone loves exposure!

Some terms: Please make sure your button isn't vulgar and that your product/blog/shop/etc is something my readers would be interested in. Thanks! :)

::Hey Girl::

Have you seen all the "Hey Girl..." Ryan Gosling pictures on Pinterest?
They're HILARIOOOS!
Here are some of my faves...

Ha! I just had to share!
If you've "Liked" our facebook, you already got to see a preview of these earlier this week ;)
Hint Hint!

Oh! And if you get some time would you please vote in my sidebar poll?
It's quick and painless!
Just an easy way for me to get some feedback on product demand.

Thanks a bunch! Hope everyone has a Funday Sunday :)

Clutch Much?

There are new clutches in the shop!
summer stripe

dragon

Here's why I love these things:
They're super convenient for a night out (no dancing with a heavy purse)
They're great for the gym.
Perfect size for your keys, chapstick, cell phone and iPod during morning jogs
Fits easily in a purse. Mine holds my toiletries, glosses, pen and other loose items.
Slides easily into a diaper bag pocket because really, who wants to carry a diaper bag and a purse?
They add a pop of color to your outfit!
Seriously my girlfriends and I use these all the time when we go out. So much easier than lugging a purse around!

:::I have to admit Summer Stripe is my current fave. I couldn't resist keeping one with a tangerine ruffle for my purse!:::

I'm stocking up on inventory for the Junk in the Trunk market in May so if there's something you want, snag it now!

Don't forget about the other newbies in there too:

ALSO- in addition to free shipping, all orders over $50 will receive 15% off the entire purchase with the code 15OFF!
And yep, that includes totes!
{did you see the free shipping part?}

Are there any products you would like to see in the shop
I always love getting feedback from readers on what prototypes I should be testing out so if there's something, let me know!

::Hello!::

Hey guys!
Remember me?
I know I've been absent from blogging lately. I sort of explained why here but I wanted to pop in for a second to say something big...
THANK YOU!!!
I recently participated in a group Facebook giveaway with Tricia Williams Photography and the outcome was a HUGE success! My Facebook is finally comin' along and I got to "meet" so many great shop owners along the way. I also got a bunch of new blog followers with it, so if you're one of them- an extra big thanks to you!

Some big changes are happening in the near future. You may haven noticed a logo revamp {isn't the heart the cutest?!} And if you click on over to the shop you'll notice it longer directs you to Etsy, but instead our standalone store. This is a big big step that will change the way I do things with my products, which I will explain in greater detail soon. You can still find us on Etsy, but all new products will go into the official shop on whimsy-lane.com.

I've been sick so I'm a bit behind on my sewing, but I got a bunch of new fabric that's got me really inspired so I hope to get a ton done this weekend so I can share with you my new ideas for the shop
So exciting!

Again, I cannot thank you enough for the continued support and love! The handmade world is a tricky one because we're all joining together to support the very people that are sometimes our own competitors. But somehow it works, and it's a really sweet sisterhood to be a part of {and brotherhood too sometimes.}
