Creative Spaces Saturdays ::TaylorMade::

Hello Saturday!
Today I'm trying something different: Creative Spaces Saturdays!
CSS is where I'll feature a creative space that inspires. Today's space is from TaylorMade, and next week is CaseyLeigh!
Scroll down for a Q&A with the ever-crafty, tutorial expert, Taylor!
Look at that space! I love the light that pours in through those sweet wispy drapes

I love a girl who's organized!

Ahhh those plates!

Taylor says she doesn't yet know how to use that big hunka machine in the corner, but I think just having it makes you look pretty legit!

Round table is for crafting because she doesn't mind getting glue and other junk on it.

I DIE for that green table that she repurposed!

Can I have your wood floors? :)

How cute is her ToDo list and hanging file?

Girl after my own heart!

I caught up with Taylor and grilled her to death!!!
Just kidding, it's only 5 questions ;)

1. What do you listen to while you create in your space?
A crazy mix of pop, musicals, 70's folk music and the glee soundtracks.

2. What's your favorite thing in there?
My fabric collection... I could just stare at it and not even make anything and it makes me happy!

3. When making your space do you lean more towards functionality or decor?
Functionality first then decor second, it has to work and be realistic for me.

4. What's the oddest crafting tool you use?
I don't know how odd this is but I have a bunch of chop sticks on my sewing table to poke the corners out of fabric when I flip something right side out

5. What advice do you have for someone wanting to convert a room or area into their own creative space?
Make sure to have everything "set up" and stay organized. I just now have a whole room but I started with a table, then a corner then a whole wall. But the whole time my sewing machine was set up and ready to sew. People are so busy these days that if it takes more time to set stuff up and get it out, then it isn't worth it. I also have cheapy plastic drawers and label everything so I know where to find anything quickly.

Oh, and Happy New Years Eve! Hope everyone has a safe and fun night :)

Bloom Necklaces add an easy pop of color
I opened up a bag of snack mix and this is all that was in it! What's up with that?!

Christmas morning with my favorite guys; the hubby, the dad and the son

 Who says carnations aren't pretty?

All Sam's loot under the tree Christmas Eve.

Santa got Sam this awesome track that glows in the dark. It comes with cars that have LED blacklights on the bottom so when they zoom through the track they light it up. He LOVES it. Here's the link to it.
I thought this was really sweet. Sam hung his toy keys up on our key rack :)

I snapped some photos of Sam yesterday while we were lounging around being lazy and taking advantage of mommy's winter break off work! I can't believe my little man is already almost three. Wow.

life rearranged
Every Friday we celebrate life through Instagram photos. This week I decided to do a little theme... all the photos are snapshots of my studio! I got inspired one night while sewing and started snapping away on my phone.
Welcome to my {messy} abode!
Ribbons hang on a wooden dowel for accessibility and a punch of color too!

Cutting table madness! New totes in the works.

Scraps, tags, templates and scissors station!

That adorable blue framed print was a gift from Jenni!

It doubles as a laptop bag! Yep, it's big enough to fit my dinorsaur HP Pavilion Entertainment laptop with it's big ol' battery pack, so I'm sure it can fit yours!

life rearranged

So cute: I was painting two large canvases for a huge wall in our living room that really needeed a large-scale piece. Sam loves when I paint, and he always wants to get his paints out too. So when he proudly showed me his paper I saw that not only did he use the same colors as me, but he also did the same general design: lines. It was so cute that he made his little version like mine :)

Look at those fresh colors!

I baked a bunch of Christmas cookies with Sam last week. These are molasis.
Did you know if you put a slice of bread under your cookies it will keep them soft and chewy? The cookies absorb the moisture from the bread. I stuck one at the bottom of our cookie jar and the cookies were soft for over a week!

Mmmm homemade chicken tortilla soup...kind of. Scroll down for easy recipe!

Psssst! I've got something new for you coming soon...
;)
