summer reversible pillows!

My couches needed a serious summer makeover.
{even Lucy looks bored}

So I bought some pillow forms (and a couple unused throw pillows) and got to work planning which fabrics I was going to use. I wasn't necessarily going for matching- I just wanted bright fun colors that said "SUMMER IS HERE!"
{I got so excited to get them sewn that I didn't take tutorial photos :(
But there are tons online, and I will post one when I make throws for the guest room}

Here they are all completed!

Here's a front view

Here are the sides I'm displaying now...

...and their coordinating opposite sides.
I used different fabric on each side so they're reversible.
When I get sick of one, I can just flip it over!

Here is the showing side of the loveseat...

and the other side.

I also went a little crazy with my bookshelf, which I will show you tomorrow, but here's the updated end table.
I'm really into decorating with books these days, and I loved the crisp whites next to the aqua blue. Seemed like summer to me!

The best part of these reversible pillows is that with one quick unzip of the zipper, I can throw them in the washer.
I made some other pillows before that I had sewed shut, which proved to be a bad idea with a peanut butter-obsessed toddler.

Tomorrow I will show you my bookshelf makeover which is as colorful as my pillows!
Color is the new black this summer for sure!
