DIY birthday invites
If you saw This Post you know I make all my own cards online with Picnik.com... the cheap way!
Well, Sam's second birthday invitations are no exception, except this time I did them a little different (and a little cheaper!)
Last time after I created the card on Picnik.com I uploaded them to Walgreens.com and picked up my 20 prints 15 minutes later for about $2.28 (make sure you always Google "Walgreens photo coupon codes" first)
But THIS time I was worried the text would appear too small on a standard 4x6 size and the 5x7 was more than I wanted to spend soooo instead I printed them out for FREE by using my own printer and card stock paper! They turned out just as nice! And they say nothing in life is free! I've found that there are TONS of free resources online, and I always do my best to share them with you all!
I recommend Picnik.com to everyone who uses Shutterfly, Target, or any of those companies that print cards and invitations for a costly price. Picnik allows you to do the same thing at no cost.*** My posts have been a bit scattered lately since all my energy is going into getting everything ready for Sam's party. Every year I try to do a theme apart from the matchy-matchy character decor at party stores, and this year's theme is Ice Cream Parlour. I've been feverishly working to make banners, find candy scoops, and print off freebies from my favorite websites. I'll share them all after the party and come on, you KNOW I'll have photos!Nah, me? taking photos? never! ;)
Make this birthday shirt!I made this shirt for Sam to wear on his 2nd birthday and it was (of course) easy and cheap! All you need is a t-shirt in the appropriate size and printable fabric...In Microsoft Word I found a font I liked, blew up the size of the big "2" and printed it onto printable iron-on fabric. Ironed it on, and voila! Easy peasy cheap and breezy!
Sam approves!
I can't wait to see the photos from Sam's party. I love fun birthday party decor and I'm sure yours will be adorable! Using picknik for the invites is a great idea--I will definitely be doing that for Meghan's 3rd bday. Thanks!
